Yorktown's shore is different from the low harbor cities. The York River is wide, and much of the Yorktown bank is higher, with bluffs and beaches where the water meets steeper ground. That changes the work: alongside vertical bulkheads, this shore sees a lot of riprap revetment, graded rock keyed into the bank to armor the toe of a slope that a wall alone would not suit. We read the bank before we recommend a structure. A steep, eroding bluff toe usually wants rock, not a vertical wall that reflects the wave energy and scours its own base. A lower lot with a failing wall wants the wall rebuilt properly, with new anchors and toe. Either way we build the marine structure, not a foam injection sold as a shortcut.
